Call for Nominations 2026


The Carl Wagner Medal of Excellence in Electrochemical Engineering is awarded every three years by the Working Party on Electrochemical Engineering (WPEE) of the European Federation of Chemical Engineers (EFCE) to a European researcher under the age of 35 for outstanding contributions to research in applied electrochemistry or electrochemical engineering. Most of the relevant contributions should have been generated in Europe. Exceptions from the age (under 35 at the deadline of the call for proposals) could be made due to maternal leave or military service with indication of the time period, but not more than three years.

The medal will be presented at the 14th European Symposium on Electrochemical Engineering – 14th ESEE, to be held in Glasgow, Scotland, on 8-11 June 2026, where the recipient of the medal will be invited to give a lecture. The award also comprises a certificate and a travel grant to attend the 14th ESEE.

  • curriculum vitae of the nominee,
  • list of publications and
  • other relevant activities
