Mission

We are the Early Careers Chemical Engineers Section of the European Federation of Chemical Engineers (EFCE). This section aims to inspire, inform, upskill and influence our community members to choose a lifelong career in chemical engineering.

We do this by:

  • Advocating and showcasing the importance of this profession in the advancement of society.
  • Promoting top-level chemical engineering science developments,
  • Sharing innovations in the field,
  • Informing about new strategic technologies,
  • Discussing interdisciplinary items
  • And much more!

We intend for our activities to help forge an active early career community for our members to develop their present and future capabilities. We do this by bridging the gap for graduates stepping into industry and bringing together the wide range of diverse experiences and interests of Early Career Chemical Engineers through interdisciplinary meetings, conferences and workshops.

EFCE Travel Grant

The EFCE Travel Grant provides support to early career members of EFCE or member societies to enable them to present their work at various EFCE events and to develop important networks to further their careers.
The grant applications will be evaluated by the EFCE Early Career Chemical Engineers Section, which is a network of early career colleagues that you can engage more with! Also, we would be happy if you could spread awareness of the possibility in your network.

Note: Early Career Chemical Engineers are defined as those who are working towards or have obtained at least a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and have less than approx. 8 years of relevant professional experience in case of a master’s degree or less than approx. 4 years of relevant professional experience in the case of a Ph.D. title.

The Grant shall be used to cover part or all of travel and accommodation costs for ECCE conferences and other significant EFCE events and will be paid only on production of relevant receipts.
Only the nominated applicant is the Grant holder. Nominated Grants cannot be transferred to a third person.
The Grant is to be spent for the attendance to the EFCE event it was awarded for. The Grant cannot be delayed or put on hold.
