George Stephanopoulos Award in Process Systems Engineering

Founded in 2024, the George Stephanopoulos Award is presented in recognition of outstanding achievements in Process Systems Engineering.
The Award is co-sponsored by the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, the EFCE Working Party on Computer Aided Process Engineering, and the AIChE-CAST Division.

George Stephanopoulos Award is structured to rotate between regions every second year: in even-numbered years European awards are presented at at the ESCAPE conference, and in odd-numbered years North American awards are presented at the AIChE Annual Meeting.

The Award was presented on 23 June 2026 at the ESCAPE-36 Symposium in Sheffield, UK. 

2025 - Professor Gintaras Reklaitis, Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, USA

The Award was presented at the 2025 AIChE Annual Meeting.

2024 - Professor Claire Adjiman, Imperial College London, UK

The Award was presented on 3 June 2024 at the ESCAPE-34/PSE-24 conference in Florence, Italy.
