Principal activities of the Working Party

 

  • Organization of triennial International Symposium on Industrial Crystallization  and specialized scientific meetings and workshops
     
  • Exchange of information about activities of national working parties on crystallization of the EFCE member countries

  • Fostering links to other working parties within EFCE which are active in adjacent areas, such as mixing, reaction engineering, filtration and separation, drying, agglomeration, comminution and classification, characterization of particulate systems

  • Evaluation and standardization of methods of measurement; definition of terminology, symbols and units in the field of industrial crystallization
     
  • Development of training at undergraduate and postgraduate level

Award

Triennial Excellence Award in Crystallization

The 2023 Excellence Award in Crystallization was presented to DR. FRANCESCA BREVEGLIERI for her PhD thesis titled
"Deracemization via batch temperature cycles - combining racemization and crystallization for chiral resolution"
completed at the ETH Zurich, Switzerland, under the supervision of Professor Marco Mazzotti.
The Award was presented during the 22nd International Symposium on Industrial Crystallization (ISIC 2023) which was held in Glasgow, United Kingdom, on 5-8 September 2023.

With great sadness we announce the loss of Prof. dr. ir. Gerda Maria van Rosmalen who passed away on 18 January 2021. She will be tremendously missed.
