In the French educational system, pupils first attend pre-school (age 3 to 5 years), followed by primary/elementary school (age 6 to 10 years) and then secondary schools (Collège+Lycée: 11 to 18 years) that prepare students for the Baccalaureate. Some secondary vocational education schools, combining school and workplace learning in certain cases, can also provide access to a professional Baccalaureate.
