Dr. Michael Shoham Patrascu

is the winner of the EFCE Excellence Award in Process Intensification 2017

His PhD thesis on

Scaled-down H2 Production in Pd Membrane Reactors: Process Design and Experimental Investigations

completed at the Chemical Engineering Department, Technion - I.I.T., Haifa, Israel, under the supervision of Prof. Moshe Sheintuch received the best evaluation results in terms of relevance to process intensification, breadth and depth of the study, scientific impact and industrial relevance, innovation and dissemination of results.

Michael Shoham Patrascu obtained his Bachelor and PhD degrees in Chemical Engineering from Technion - I.I.T., Haifa, Israel. Currently, he holds the position of Postdoctoral Associate at the Process Systems Engineering Laboratory, Massachusetts Institute of Technology - MIT, Cambridge, USA.

The Award was presented in Barcelona, Spain, on 2 October 2017 at the Award Ceremony of the 10th World Congress of Chemical Engineering - WCCE10. Dr. Shoham Patrascu gave a lecture on 2 October 2017, 16:30 h in the topic “Batch to continuous” of IPIC1/EPIC6/APSPIS3 held as a joint event of WCCE10.

Process Intensification 2015

  

 

Dr. Danilo Alberto Cantero Sposetti

is the winner of the EFCE Excellence Award in Process Intensification 2015

His PhD thesis on

Intensification of Cellulose Hydrolysis Process by Supercritical Water. Obtaining of Added Value Products

completed at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Environmental Technology, University of Valladolid, Spain, under the supervision of Prof. María José Cocero Alonso and Dr. María Dolores Bermejo Roda received the best evaluation results in terms of relevance to process intensification, breadth and depth of the study, scientific impact and industrial relevance, innovation and dissemination of results.

The award was presented on 28 September 2015 during the EPIC5 conference, held in Nice, France, from 27 September to 1 October 2015 in conjunction with ECCE10/ECAB3.

Dr. Ernesto AlTman Restrepo

is the winner of the EFCE Excellence Award in Process Intensification 2013

His PhD thesis on

"Microwave Enhanced Reactive Distillation"

completed at the Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands, under the supervision of Prof. dr.ir Andrzej Stankiewicz, received the best evaluation results in terms of relevance to process intensification, breadth and depth of the study, scientific impact and industrial relevance, innovation and dissemination of results.

Dr Altman, currently lecturing at Universidad del Valle, Colombia, began his doctoral study into Microwave-enhanced Reactive Distillation in March 2007 at Delft University of Technology, NL, from where he graduated in 2011.

The award was presented on 23 April 2013 during a special session of the 4th EPIC conference, held inThe Hague, The Netherlands, from 22 to 24 April 2013 in conjunction with ECCE9/ECAB2.

Dr.ir. Patrick W.A.M. Wenmakers

is the winner of the EFCE Excellence Award in Process Intensification 2011

His PhD thesis on

 "Hairy foam: carbon nanofibers on solid foam as catalyst support - Synthesis, mass transfer, and reactor modelling"

completed at the Eindhoven University of Technology under the supervision of Prof. dr.ir Jaap C. Schouten, Department of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry, TU/e, The Netherlands, received the best evaluation results in terms of relevance to process intensification, breadth and depth of the study, scientific impact and industrial relevance, innovation and dissemination of results.

Partick Wenmakers received the Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering from the Polytechnic College Brabant, Breda, and the Masters degree in Chemical Engineering from the Eindhoven University of Technology. Currently, he is active as an assistant scientist in reaction engineering at DSM-Advanced Chemical Engineering Solutions in Geleen, The Netherlands. 

The award was presented on 21 June 2011 during special session of the 3rd EPIC conference, held in Manchester, United Kingdom, from 20 to 23 June 2011.

Dr.-Ing. Carsten Buchaly

is the winner of the EFCE Excellence Award in Process Intensification 2009

His PhD thesis on

 "Experimental Investigation, Analysis and Optimisation of Hybrid Separation Processes"

completed at the Technische Universität Dortmund under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Andrzej Górak, Faculty of Biochemical and Chemical Engineering, TU Dortmund, Germany, received the best evaluation results in terms of innovativeness, breadth and depth of the study, quality of publications, and its industrial relevance.

Carsten Buchaly received the Dipl.-Ing. degree in Chemical Engineering and the Dr.-Ing. degree in Chemical Engineering from the Technische Universität Dortmund, Germany. Currently, he is active as a process engineer in the Department of Process Design at Bayer Technology Services (BTS), Leverkusen. His work at BTS is focussed on the conceptual process design of base and fine chemicals.

The award was presented on 17 June 2009 during a special session of the GPE-EPIC 2009, held in Venice, Italy, from 14 to 17 June 2009.
