Dr.ir. Marco Meeuwse

is the winner of the
EFCE Excellence Award in Chemical Reaction Engineering 2012


His PhD Thesis on

"Rotor-Stator Spinning Disc Reactor"

completed at Eindhoven University of Technology under the supervision of Professor Jaap Schouten, was selected by an international jury as the best thesis in terms of breadth and depth of the study, industrial relevance, innovation, number and quality of publications, and the European dimension.

Marco Meeuwse received his Masters degree in Chemical Engineering from the Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands. Currently, he he holds the position of Associate Scientist in Reactor Engineering at DSM - Advanced Chemical Engineering Solutions, Geleen, The Netherlands.

The award will be presented in Maastricht, The Netherlands, on Wednesday, 5 September, in conjunction with ISCRE 22.

Dr. MAARTEN SABBE

is the winner of the EFCE Excellence Award in Chemical Reaction Engineering 2010


His PhD Thesis on

"Ab initio based kinetic modeling for the simulation of industrial chemical processes"

completed at Ghent University under the supervision of Professor Marie-Francoise Reyniers and Professor Guy Marin, was selected by an international jury as the best thesis in terms of innovativeness, breadth and depth of research, and its industrial relevance.

Maarten Sabbe received his Masters degree in Engineering/Chemical Technology from the Ghent University, Belgium. Currently, he works as a postdoctoral fellow of the Fund for Scientific Research-Flanders at the Laboratory for Chemical Technology, University of Gent.

The award was presented in Prague, Czech Republic, on Sunday 29 August 2010, in conjunction with ECCE-7/CHISA 2010.
